Holy crap my shoulder hurts. Using a mouse to draw from scratch is hell. x_x
What I do is magnify in on one portion of my painting, for example, the eye, and work in little details. So yeah, it should take a good amount of time to finish.

No, this is using GIMP 2.0. But I have used MS Paint to draw detailed paintings before using the same approach: zoom in to a portion and work on that one area in detail and move onto another.
Hopefully I can work like this someday.

I can't afford a tablet! With no job right now.
And honestly, being an artist these days is a HUNGRY JOB. Meaning it won't pay your bills. If you plan to get into art, it should be a leading career like animation for Pixar Studios. Still paintings like the Mona Lisa are nothing until AFTER it's painter is dead.

yuppp animation can fork in around or more a quarter of a million dollars a year

You'd be surprised actually. MS Paint can make some pretty decent artwork. Just takes a lot of time. Would make awesome stuff all the time on it. Especially at school. Kids would watch me haha.
