Hello everyone!

I've been taking more screenshots lately (thanks to Mystical) of battle scenes. I also tend to say "LEEROOOYYY JENKINSSSSSS" for fun during games. Which got me thinking, why not put both together as a contest?

Who or What is Leroy Jenkins?

For those who don't know who Leroy Jenkins is, he is a WoW player who is infamous for his very well known "Scream and charge" into a room full of mobs. To explain better, here's his video :


Please note: There is a bit of vulgarity in the video, not excessive, but exists.

How does the contest work?

This is a SCREENSHOT contest.

After watching the video, I'm hoping its now understood how "LEEROOOYY JENKINSSSS" applies and what a Leroy Jenkins theme is.

This is what we'll be looking for :

A cool, unique, and/or funny screenshot keeping the "Leroy Jenkins" theme.

A character (your character) saying "LEEEROOY JENKINSSSS" in the screenshot.

Rules

1. You DO NOT have to actually do what the video shows, which is wiping your party.

2. The screenshots MUST NOT be edited in any way. They must come straight out of your device.

3. Only ONE entry per account. Since I do not have an actual way of knowing if there are no multiple entries from the same person, only forum players with a join date from BEFORE March 2011 will be qualified. This is so that only current forum members before the introduction of the event are qualified. I know it may sound unfair, but I wouldn't want the chance for one player to win the entire amount. If you have any recommendations on how to get around this, please let me know.

I haven't exactly given back to the entire community anyway, with friends only, so I'm hoping this could be a first step.

What would probably be best is you posting the picture as soon as possible to be able to be the first with the idea and just improve it and replace it as much as you want.

OR

You could just do your best with that idea so even if someone copies it, yours would look better.

Good question, will add to the first post for those that don't know how to.

There's a guide on posting just using your iPhone, but these are full images and not links, to post links copy and use "Direct Link" instead of the "IMG".

And sorry to inform, but only players with a Join Date before March 2011 (so February 2011 and below) are currently allowed. I haven't found a way to get around this yet, but for the mean time this stands.

It's a sensible rule to prevent people from setting up multiple forum accounts to enter multiple times and increase their chances of winning. Previous forum contests (even one run by the devs) have been ruined because of that happening.

I use an app called Shoot Me on my Evo. But it does not work perfectly in games. If there is a lot of action, the pic comes out all messed up. Check it out in the android market.

Mmm it seems theres a bit of confusion to some of the submissions, but it might be better to just leave it as 1 screenshot rather than 2 or a couple.

I get the effect, like the before and after part, just wouldn't want to end up being a series or dialogue. Hope it makes sense? Let me know what you think.

I had no idea what was going on. Just standing there. Moving a little closer to king when in rushes Red. After reading this and watching the video it all makes sense now. Oh and Royce is way cool.

Btw. When watching that WoW video I couldn't help but notice how complicated it looked. Is it just me or was there like 100 buttons on the screen? Reminds me of Everquest on steroids.

Wow seems pretty simple at first, then you add add-ons which clutter your screen.

I think the controls go 1-9, then CTRL + 1-9, then Shift + 1-9? Not sure, its been awhile and never played that much.

I added a small work-around the Forum Join Date rule to allow more players to join.

Your NEW forum account name must MATCH your character name you are doing the screenshot with, and the character MUST be 55. Level 55 might be a bit high, but its still more people allowed to join.

So if you want to join, and your character name is Leroy12345 (Level 55), make a forum account named Leroy12345 to submit your screenshot. I hope this works well and allows more people to join.

Remember, your Forum account name and character name MUST MATCH."

The odds are, with enough people submitting, that people would end up with the same boss. I guess noone can do a zombie, and no one can do shadow, no one can do Gurgox, that does somewhat limit the number of people who can upload a picture if you can't do an area if someone else has. If that is the case. I will change mine to the most menacing location I can think of....Begfort Castle.

Multiple similar ideas do not affect the judging. Although they might be similar, if you're able to do something different and make it better, that's what will count :)

Unless of course you do the exact same thing that was already a unique and creative thing to do.

I vowed not to go back into SC until I get to L56, so that wasn't going to happen :(
I tried a few shots doing trains in Stronghold, but they never came out too great.

There's just something so pure about running away from 7 bosses with only limited pots left that made this my favorite.
