View Full Version : Switch to rogue?

Ok so I know, only I can make the choice. But, I thought I'd get some of the community's thought on what to do. Here's my predicament-

-I love PvP. I want to do endgame PvP, but considering I can't afford the best gear for a sorcerer right now, (or probably ever) I can't necessarily do very good.
-I also love soloing, and mage is great for that! But, I'm pretty sure (from my experience) rogue isn't the best at soloing (minus elites)
-I don't have much gold, I can't afford to fully gear a mage, much less a rogue. So I don't see finding any groups that want me with full legendary gear.
-I do know that a full legendary rogue isn't the best in PvP, but it's better than a full legendary mage.

Any thoughts? I'm sure if I put all my time into farming a recipe I could better gear myself but I don't see ever being able to gear a rogue. I guess my longing for PvP isn't a complete necessity, but that's why I started the game in the first place.

IMO, rogue is the most boring class to play, both pve and pvp. Just letting you know.

Rouge why? In planar tombs rouges deal lots more dmg and its way faster killing pve and pvp ( unles you solo tombs with lots of mobs)

You may get bored in a couple of weeks with a rogue. Mage will not you get bored. It's most fun class. Btw, mages' gear cheaper

Make both. All 3 characters have their strengths and weaknesses and all 3 are fun to use certain times.

Mages are the most fun tho IMO. There's nothing like watching an entire mob get destroyed in seconds by a 4 attack skill Mage.

Thanks alot for others inputs as well!

I'm pretty sure PvE is my jam in this game, so I'll stick to it with mage.

Warrior is the most boring class
If you wanna PvP then rogue is best for it. Even with a mythic bulwark and mythic set, Legendary rogues can kill me.

I don't want to go all negative on you. But i've seen you in PvP today and if you keep trash talking like that, people won't offer to help you get better. Because with that gear, a legendary rogue shouldn't even be able to get you under 50%.

You should play all three, if just to get to know other class' skills. Each has a different play style though, so it's good to find out.

Warriors work the hardest; you actually have to be active. Mages are quite fun but squishy. Rogues can be the easiest class to play if you're chatty.

I switched from mage to rogue at level 36 cap. Best choice ive ever made. Ive been only playing rogue since. i only had money for legendary at the time as well but you should be able to get mythic armor with some hard work. Still hard to go very positive in endgame pvp with just mythic armor and helm though.

Rogue is the most expensive class to play, just so you know. For PvE the potion consumption is astronomical, and not optional. Not going to say much on PvP - even near-maxed rogues can get one-comboed on a regular basis. Unless you have 5K hp, you're going to spend a lot of time dead. I don't see much difference between a dead rogue and a dead mage.

That being said, I prefer rogue for elites, but for things like kraag tomb farming, mage takes the cake.
