Hearthstone is actually pay2win lol, its a card game. While vainglory on the other hand you can get all the characters for free by playing matches which give you glory. And every week on tuesday they switch the free hero rotation week for 6 free chars. The characters in vainglory cost about 800-8k glory while you get 200-300 glory every day from daily's.

Vainglory is incredibly fun, I just probably played the best match of all time....

For those of you playing VG, our team had 1 turret when the enemy stole the kraken, which proceeded to kill our remaining turret. We now had zero turrets vs. their full turrets. Somehow we managed to comeback and get the win with almost zero crystal hp left...I have never experienced a rush of excitement from playing any video game than I just have in that last Vainglory game. 20/10 would recommend again...can't believe I forgot to record that.

Half joking, but nice! My favorite character to use is Glaive for sure, or Koshka. I haven't played much of anything else.

3 skills doesn't mean it takes less skill in moba's the skills require timing and some aiming (skaarf). And in Vainglory there's much more then just the skills, items that have actives that save your team like crucible and others need to be timed correctly. To gain gold in lane you have to time autos to last hit the minion. While in lvl 15 in PL you just press stomp slash then go back and do it again with not much timing required or anything lol. See the diffrence Brahhh

Definitely some of the character have their skill shots, but the fights in VG are more about team positioning rather than skill timing for me. Besides the occasional reflex block to counter some ultis, it doesn't require much reactionary timing either. That's what I like about VG, where you have to synchronize as a team rather than getting carried by one person with an extraordinary build/skill.

On a side note: In fact, I feel like fighting in VG takes less skill than anything besides auto fights in PL, since cooldowns are generally fairly long, and it's basically about pressing your skills, and waiting for them to flee so you can chase them down. Don't get me wrong though, the strategy required in VG is twice the amount of any FFA you'll get in PL.

Hopefully STS new MOBA can emulate something like this while maintaining some Pocket Legends casual-ness (?? is that a word??)

I'd usually agree with this but I recently restarted playing o&c and it's so fun, and if you're on ios they update frequently and take care of the game.

I wouldn't recommend a card game to anyone. To go even further, I wouldn't recommend any turn-based game (unless it is highly stratigical and does not depend on time at all). I am of the opinion that board games should stay on boards and shouldn't be digitalized. And only a M.O.B.A. is worse than a digital turn based game to me. So you can guess what a good time I am having as a gamer right now. You guessed it, not a good one.

But I am obviously in the minority here, so don't listen to my opinion.

Yeah, gameloft has really stepped up their multiplayer online games, but Vainglory runs wayyyyy smoother in my opinion.

Hearthstone is not pay to win. I got a new account and went up to rank 7/8 within a week, you just need to know what you're doing with your packs and spare cards.

As far as I know, Super Evil Megacorp (the developers of Vainglory) made a custom game engine called E.V.I.L. and it shouldn't be such a big problem porting to android. But yeah, I am pretty sure they signed some contract with Apple to keep the game iOS exclusive and recieve free advertisement and perhaps some cash under the table. Perhaps they decided not to port to android because it is a less profitable platform (especially for the iAP payment model) and there are many, many different android devices and os versions that would need to be supported.

TL;DR:
Vainglory is iOS exclusive.
