But why is it epic (purple)? Thought it was mythic or something

There are two kind of Imbued gear, the pink/legendary ones (best gear for all classes atm) and the purple/epic ones, which are "crap" gear.

You need the Dark Crystal version of the Imbued you want (ex: if you want an Imbued Gem Helm of Brutality, you will need a Dark Crystal Helm of Brutality) that is lootable from Elite Planar Tombs Chests or buyable from cs/other players, the corresponding recipe (ex: Recipe: Imbued Gem Helm of Brutality) and a Planarite Ingot. Once you got all these, you can craft them into the Imbued version.

Depends on the Imbued version. The better it is, the more expensive it is.. Brutality and Potency are the best for rogues, and you won't get a gemmed set for less than 15m(Brutality)/20m(Potency), I think.
