Alright cool. I've just gotten into it recently after playing 1.5/1.6 on and off for 10 years. Figured I'd give the new one a try.

It's good! I like it. There are some differences that might throw you off at first, like the nade throwing is slightly different, the recoil patterns are different, and just little differences you will notice if you've been playing 1.6 for years, but it's all adjustable.

Now maybe it's a little bit less popular because of fewer tournaments but for sure that game passed the test of time.
