I just realized this new type of scam, this is how scamer scam using trade market sub forum.

1st, he put an item in auct (that item is the one and only in auct) with high price for example 2mil
2nd, he login in forum (use different name) and start a thread buying that item with specifik name and level item.
3rd, ppl (seller/merchant) read his thread and look at auct (2mil) and make an offer to thread starter with some profit, for example 3mil.
4th, negotiate is a must so ppl believe his action is real, he really wanna buy that item
5th, after dealing the price (maybe 2.5mil), this seller buy in auct for 2mil and smile bcoz 500k profit but the fact is he got scamed 2mil.
6th, thread starter never online again

So careful, this game is getting worst bcoz theres no jail for them believe me.

Similar to a scam I fell for loong ago. One item put up in auc for say, 80k. Something of specific level and a rare item. Like, I just saw a guy asking for "brawn amulet of ripose lvl10". Obviously riposte is ugly amulet. For lvl10, gives 6str. Bleck. So its obvio scam. The scammer in another account/character asks people for the item in exchange for lepre pendant or such. Noob players see big profit in fooling the scammer. But noob is the fool. Scammer gets monnay. And I noticed a scammer in a guild called " play and win" which seems like a serious scammer guild :P Scammer community rising! Beware!

Greedy people get screwed for not knowing the market? Happens all the time, not a new scam.

Technically this isn't directly considered as a scam, because it is very hard to prove, unless there is a confession from the other person regarding their motives. What if within that time frame that you buy the item and you contact him, he finds a better deal, or he manages to loot the item, or he just loses interest? When you try to squeeze out a merch, you risk the end transaction being a success or a failure.

this is not a scam. its taking advantages of idiots who think they can buy that item from cs and rip the guy that seems to be buying it off.

This has been occuring for a while, and is not a scam. Just common sense to trick people into buying their product.

But it is kind of a scam. Which hurts just as bad as a scam. And they dont "find" a better deal. After the purchase is done, they block/ignore you. Tricking someone to buy something at an outrageous price.. I think it can be called a scam.

It's not a scam, because the person that thinks they're ripping the guy off is probably just plain stupid. How is it scamming if you got scammed due to your own stupidity? It's definitely not scam. I'm not supporting this kind of "trading/selling", but im not going against it either. If you get scammed by these kind of things then its your own fault. If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably isn't true. You just have to use common sense.

This is an old scam. People also shout in town things like, "trading blinky egg for [random item you've never heard of]." Then you look in auction and notice there's 1 of the random item selling for 1/2 the price of a blinky egg. So you buy it, thinking he will trade with you. However, that person had listed the random item and got you to pay 100x the value of the item and he had no intention to trade for a blinky egg.

The one who shout in town in game is an old trick,,but using this forum is new. They use forum bcoz ppl think that who use forum for selling/buying isnt scamer.

Hey guys,

Scams are certainly no fun and it is very important to protect yourself. If you ever find yourself the target of a scam, please contact the support team at support@spacetimestudios.com. They can investigate the issue in full and take appropriate action.

Since scam discussions like this can get a bit heated, I'm going to go ahead and lock this thread down. :)
