Talon DPS compared to bows

Why is it that talons are supposed to be faster and have a higher dps but when I use a talon instead of a bow.... The talon always has lower damage, lower dps and lower stats??? Do talons get better or do they just suck compared to bows because it seems like they go alot faster than bows!!!! Answers would be great!! Ty

Talons have less overall damage because they are used with a wing to give you defensive capabilities - doesn't really matter what the weapon speed is. Talon + Wing/Shield combination will usually grant you superior Dodge, Armor, H/s, and M/s compared to just using a bow.

Talons are faster, but tend to have less damage than bows, thus less dps. Talons are great! They give you the ability to weild a windshield that gives armor, and even more stats than that depending on the wing, just at the cost of damage.

I find talons funny. They have really low base damage, but skill damage doesn't seem to suffer that much. Unless I got the numbers mixed up :P

Talons and certain cross-bows do give a much bigger skill damage boost!

Edit: BUT - keep in mind that weapon damage still is a factor, so overall the guns/bows will have the best overall skill damage.

Talons do go alot faster, but when it comes to weapon damage they are much weaker than bows. The main thing about talons is that they are one-handed and you can equip wings with talon for extra armor and stats. Hope that helps. :)

Yeah the guns/bows definitely have more, but for the def/dodge/regen you gain from the wing, I'd say its quite a worthy trade for only a small amount of damage lost from skills.
