If I may add a question, what about these is so great? Is it just their rarity that explains the price, or do their stats/procs exceed the alternatives?

Dws and Ss give the exact same stats so it comes down to their procs. Dws has a chance to proc 100% crit chance for like 2 seconds? (Not too sure). Ss has a chance to proc +25 Str for 8 seconds? (Not too sure) again. IMO Ss is better than Dws because Ss gives extra damage and health for longer. All Dws does is give bigger damage for like one skill shot.

dws is expensive only because it looks cool and it is rare...ss better

Depends what lvl u are...... dws stats are a little better than ss and i prefer ss proc at lvl 10 but if ur in a pvp clash the dws proc is amazing.
ss proc lasts 8 seconds gives 25 str and a little health regen
dws proc lasts 2 seconds and gives 100% crit buff
