mage with int and str in this game are call pally
you can either go full str
half and half (hybrid)
or just enough str to wear lvl 56 clothes and the rest on int

doesnt matther how you distribute the stats each lvl
:o

For paladins there are a lot of combinations you can go with Dual Spec which lets you use Str and Int gear, you can go to str and dex for more damage but lose healing. It really depends on your play style.

Here is a link to Ellyidol's Dual Spec guide.

im going to make a mage with strength (enough to wear everything) and the rest dexterity because strength doesnt increase damage as much as i would like.....should i use bows, talon etc or sick to swords 2H 1H with a shield etc....

P.S. ty very much just started the game and am very interested in different builds

With str you wear str gear (1h, 2h sowrds maces and axes and shield). Dex you use bows, talons and the rest. Check out ellys thread on my first post on dual spec.

I strongly recommend against doing that. You need int. Int is what gives you skill damage. For mages, spell damage, not your main weapon will often (especially for dedicated int mages) be the main damage dealer. A half strength/half dex build works well for bears, but not for mages.

I'd recommend either half strength and half int or half dex and half int. The former is probably an easier class to play, although the later can do more damage at the expense of survivability. There's a reason why there are so many people who choose pally.

Edit: Pally (or paladin) means about 50% strength and 50% int.

Agreed with WhoIsThis, Mages NEED int. If you want damage, just add the rest into int, and you will get a pretty large increase in spell damage. 20 spell damage = 20 extra damage PER enemy. So lets say your spell hits 10 enemies, you just casted an additional 200 damage. That is just one spell, mages have 3 multiple target damage spells. So by casting three spells, you will hit an extra 600 damage assuming it hits 10 mobs each time.

Idk the exact math, but it is almost 1 extra damage per int point. So if you have 100 points in strength that you move to int, you will get 100 or so extra damage in spells. 10x100=1000, 10 mobs. 1000x3=3000, three multi damage spells. So you can cast 3,000 damage in a second with int. I hope that makes sense.

Atm my toon is lvl 45 and has 60 str rest int i was thinking of hybrid in the early stages then i notice my lack of damage so i ended up pumping int for now. For end game (sewers etc) what kind of mages is needed? For farming in pyramids are glass canons adviseable? Ive seen some very low str mages rockin'
