View Full Version : Suggestion for Big Luck : Permanency vs. Temporary

Today, Big Luck gives a chance at reroll. In the linked thread below, players have been passionate about whether the bonus should be permanent or temporary.

The Proposal

Make Big Luck permanent and annual. A user will only wait one year maximum for to acquire the item. This rewards long term players and it only takes a maximum of one year to become a "fully vested" player.

Continue with the theme of offering platinum vanity items that map to elixirs. For example, for Easter provide a "bunny ears" vanity which includes the same effect as a speed potion elixir.

As players can only wear one vanity item at a time they can choose their effect. Over the course of a year, a player could acquire, for platinum, one of each type.

This also maps to current vanity items which offer armor.

Admittedly, while the devil is in the details (opportunity cost of P sales to STS for elixirs, not allowing multi-elixirs, not allow stacking with elixirs, possible adjustment of armor level on other vanity items, et al.), I thought it was a creative solution.

Feedback appreciated!

Credit to ericthenephew for the idea. (He asked me to post it.)

I agree, but only to a certain extent. I think that once the event is over, the piece should be nerfed, Perhaps in half or maybe quartered. I mean, think about the affect this would have on PvP? Perhaps half the effects and half them as non equiptable pieces in PvP. I just don't like the looks of them. I definately do NOT want to have to run around with bunny ears permanently on top of my head just for the bonus.

Well i like the bumy idea sort of. Id rather be able to purchase boots from plat store that are just like rings. So no modles just the name of the boots and the item. And on boots it has speed bonus.

Yeah, I probably prefer that as well.

Like the idea for speed but dont you think 2x damage and 2xarmor would be too much maybe they will dial it down a little but I'd rather they have vanity for things like luck speed or something of the like not damage and armor

With regards to your proposal for the continued development of "Bonus Giving" gear; I think it is a great idea.

It allows STS to earn some extra revenue (hopefully correlating to faster and more plentiful updates), It adds value to the game and could potentially keep people around.

I think it would be interesting to have a vanity, for lets say Thanksgiving, that adds a certain small amount of xp, like 1% (I know every lvl 56 will hate this). But charge a large amount of Plat for it (i.e. 50 - 100 plat), or make it so that it is a minimum level driven vanity. Only those who are already lvl 56 can purchase the item. This way those who deserved to have it the most, will be the ones able to achieve it. (you could use it once the level cap goes up to 61).

A lot of people play for over a year.My friends that play WoW have been playing for over 4 years. Runescape players played for the better part of a decade.

No offense but... Why'd you start a guild then, if you don't plan to stick around very long?

Interesting idea.... I just think that might be one of the lesser prioritized things the devs would decide to implement. But me likey
