An Arlorian adventurer who wishes to remain anonymous came to us earlier this morning revealing a strange artifact found just outside of Traveler's Outpost but a few days ago. A tattered piece of parchment, damp and smeared with soil.

Inventor’s Log: Day 47

I tell ya. Something is amiss around the mines these days. We’ve been hearing rumblings on the above-ground. I don’t know for sure; it could just be particularly bad weather, but I’ve got this sick feeling in my stomach I just can’t shake.

Now, I’m not one to read into the that “gut feeling” rubble, but I’ve got critical work to do on this new gem-enhanced force-field around the Cryostar. I really can’t waste any more time being distracted by wandering worries and assumptions, as the mining busy season approaches. All those mine carts flying about…wouldn’t want something bad to happen and I should focus.

Today marked test one of the new force field. I completed the gem-circuit and tried to flip it on, but the gems just won’t fire to life. I can only guess that those blasted Turen brothers have been tinkering with my things again. Back to the drawing board, I guess.


At the bottom, a fading watermark, which we can only assume is a portrait of the author.

The portrait seems to depict a gnome, but we are waiting on our sources to confirm. Gnomes, of course, have not been seen in Arlor in aeons. We are conducting further research and will keep you updated as we learn more.

gnomes have shorter limbs and legs and torso aren't that big, then again.. its in arlor so the gnomish anatomy must be different in order to adapt to arlor's environment

It will probably drive down the price of recipie and necro. If only I could refund my Scorch and take a chance at opening 15 crates instead!

I'm going to say it's a new expansion. They mentioned a new expansion in previous sneakpeaks. There was a sneakpeak with a goldmine picture, hence the story about the gnome and mining. It says there haven't been gnomes in Arlor in 'aeons'. This could mean that they aren't here for a good reason and us heroes need to do something about it.. New expansion most likely
