Jeez too many people are confusing the physical hat with its bonus effect.
The hat will not disappear once you own it, but it's still unsure whether the effect will be permanent or not.

The bonus for Big Luck is permanent until the devs say otherwise.
Ok, we'll consider making them temporary.
