Merching would be the very First option if you don't wanna spend hours running planar tombs like most of Players,but running pt3 2-4 hrs per day would a nice deal too.I do both and works as hell :D

Craft during events then hold onto stuff until the price rises. If your day to day expenses are already taken care of you can get a head start on this by stashing all your Locks.

Nothing new, during events you can increase your gold with smart moves, no hurry and chilling :)
The problem is merching nowadays, big patience and a good nose for business are needed and, many times, one wrong investment and u've wasted ur gold.
Btw i was really bored of running, day by day, planar t3 or arena, so i've decided, just for easy fun/run with low level guildies and to use sometimes my other chars, to do the most remunerative daily quests with all my 3 lvl 41 char (it takes at least 30-40 minutes par char) and well, in 2 weeks i see that i've saved more than 500k.

To get 1m:Need to have atleast 500k to invest more gold...As many people said, buy locks at cheap price for 3k each or lesser.When mythic weekend comes, sell all locks.If you buy 100 locks for 300k, you sell it back for 9k each and you get 900k back.Another 100 you missed out, well after you buy locks for 300k you have 200k left.With it, buy any egg that costs 50k or more in auction which is of less supply then wait after 4-5 months before you resell it..

Or easier just finish all your gold u had to buy locks then keep it until the right time comes

Locked crates for 1k each? That's an Insult to every hard working lock farmer Lol I have a couple hundred in stash at any given time on hold for new pets or items cause the price always raises. Thing of it is practically nobody has patience and that's exactly what it takes to accumulate any amount over 1m if you're not buying plat and turning items/ looting mythic or arcane items.

Events are the key to large amounts of money in a small amount of time! It just takes the decision "am I going to run event for myself and keep items, or to loot and sell to profit" I pulled a grand total of 3.8m from the last event selling gold eggs on multiple accounts!

Its damn near difficult or impossible to make 5million gold. This game is so based on this thing you call "luck" that even noobs are now running around with mythic gears that don't even know how to play. So either waste weeks and months of your life farming, or get 'lucky' and loot a recipe or fossil.
