View Full Version : iPad 2 launch stock levels?

Anyone know how many units a store usually sells on launch day?
It starts selling at 5PM here (10AM now), and I can get there at about 1PM.
I've been reading and heard there are about 30 people in queue (not too much I think) already, and I expect at least 50 by 1PM.
Question is, how do I know if I can actually get one when I line up? I'd hate to be next in line and hear "Sorry no more for today". :(

Aren't you supposed to be concentrating on studies and not standing in line somewhere? :p

I did my work all day yesterday :) As soon as I can just get my hands on the new iPad, I'll do more work :P

Going to the Chatswood one - gf lives there and furthest possible store.

So you gave up trying to make yours as smooth as mine? :(. Lemme know if mine compared with the new one. If it doesn't, I'm buying the new one as well.

I did as much as I could, range!
Restore, update to 4.3, as little memory as possible. I only have PL, a few annotated PDFs and thats it! No songs, videos, photos :O
I'll let you know! I'm only getting the 16gig wifi only model, have to scale down to afford one now. Lol

Yeah I found one forum where a guy was updating since 8AM, he said roughly 25-30 people at that time.
It's a shopping centre too, so no lining up for days inside the mall. I'm just hoping I get there early enough to make the cut, they still sell at 5pm =/

Based on the fact that you are saying today is ipad2 launch for you I would guess you are not in the US. Perhaps that might have more effect on your play experience then the device specs.

Yeah, Sydney.
My ping vs range's isn't that huge though.
He was saying 150-200 and mine stabilises at 300.

me and my sister walked in the mall's apple store the 2nd day of release in the middle of the afternoon and got the exact one she wanted. the last one

I think once you use it you wont sell it, especially after you install PL lol
At least that's how i felt when playing on iPad2, but i will stick with my 1 for now and wait for 3 lol

Yeah, I just packed my iPad 1 to sell. Opening iPad 2 soon! :D

AWESOME!!!!!!!
PL is all out and the only lag I get is from connection, nothing on the device!!
I actually have to get used to it having no graphical lag or delay.

Congratz Elly I am jealous now, but in a good way enjoy it. I do hope your ping stabilizes now. Man I want one but gotta wait at least a month or two -_-

Ping still always depends on connection, but definitely less graphic lag now. :)
Much more fun to play, especially with a good connection!

Just tell your hubby devs needed to test how PL runs on the Ipad 2 and they appointed you as leader of the enchantress testing group.
