CHIVALRY POINTS
WHAT ARE CHIVALRY POINTS?: They are points I will reward to the community for Witty Remarks, Being Funny, Being Helpful to the Community and Game, and being Respectful!
HOW DO I EARN THEM?: LOOK AT THE "WHAT ARE CHIVALRY POINTS"
CAN I LOSE THEM:Inappropriate behavior, Trolling, and disrespect will result in a loss of Chivalry Points.
WHAT ARE THE REWARDS?:Each Point is worth 2k gold. You may cash them in when you hit 15 points or higher.
HOW MANY POINTS CAN BE DISTRIBUTED?: I will distribute points in batches of 1-5. 5 will be a very rare occurrence.
Hope this a fun long term event for all the forumers!
If you want to donate so I can distribute more points when needed. Send me a PM. I will only accept a MAXIMUM of 10k per person towards donations.
PREVIOUS POSTS WILL NOT GET YOU POINTS UNFORTUNATELY! This event starts today and shall be continued for as long as I continue to remain on the forums and game.
YOU CAN ONLY GET POINTS SUBTRACTED IF YOU HAVE SOME POINTS! (In other words, you can not go into negative points)

i find this idea VERY hard to keep track of
for both parth telling if someone added 4 or 5 points,
and for the reciever, updating their sig 50 times for 50k

The receiver doesn't have to keep track of the points. I will keep track of that. If you notice. I'm updating this thread EVERY TIME somebody gets a point. Therefore nothing will be lost. It's optional if the receiver wants to keep track of it. I will send a PM whenever one is able to cash in their points.

Upped the gold per chivalry point to 2k. May not be a lot to you guys. But in my cash. I'm essentially doubling the amount I need to pay :D. Also lowered the minimum points required to cash in to 15.

If it wasn't range we were talking about here, I'd think "hey, he can just make sure no one ever reaches 50 points." But it's range, so I'm sure that's not the case :)

Hehe, I made the requirements a lot less. I realized that was A BIT too harsh. Minimum required now is 15. I also upped the gold per chivalry point to 2k.
He lowered it to 15. But hey, Range has high standards, I don't think I'll even make it to ten. ;)

On the surface of it you may have a point, but if you look at the aims & objectives of what is trying to be achieved here, you will see you may have misunderstood the whole intention of this thread.....
rangepwnsmeel is using his own money (and that willingly donated by fellow forum posters who agree with what he is trying to achieve here, and think he has the character/knowledge to allocate points accordingly) to reward in some small way examples of the behaviour he has laid out.
So if it is rangepwnsmeel's money & rangepwnsmeel's aims & objectives, and rangepwnsmeel's marking system...... I think that pretty much entitles him to dish out points as he sees fit.
The real question that people should be asking is do I want to wholeheartedly participate (& fully co-operate) in something like this arranged by rangepwnsmeel? I personally have answered YES. I do think he has the ability to judge people on their posts. Other people may choose not to but I suspect there isn't an in between option. Everyone is welcome to either join in or not.

This is not about judging others, it is a way for Range to commend people for posts he likes, and to back that up with his own gold. If you do not agree with the way he is doing it, feel free to create your own point system and start Stomp and Range off with -10 points. While your at, go ahead and put me down for -10 points. I personally think that a player shouldn't think they hold an advantage over others. Think of it as co-workers in an office.... If the person sitting next to you starting judging his peers based on his own scale and rewards? I doubt that will go over well. My point is this act is saying that he has the overall authority on the subject and giving and or taking away points is sketchy to me.
Look I am just a peer who plays this game, so if i dont like the idea it will still go on. But as i said it is silly to think that you have the ability to judge and to make public of the scores. If you want to do this, keep it priviate.

Hey, I understand what your saying fully. I would hate for some of my work colleagues to start this kind of thing. But this is slightly different in that he canvassed support before posting and by in large many from the forum community have endorsed it with individuals expressing their support/participation.
I've got a feeling this is meant to be a bit of fun, backed up by some in game gold, for people to join in or not as they see fit. I don't think the forums are going to suddenly implode if rangepwnsmeel's Chivalry points system becomes a huge success or not. It's a giggle and I trust him to sensibly distribute points, and if he doesn't then the forum community will highlight that to him publicly... Your concerns are valid concerns to have, but I think you'll agree that we are all capable of policing each other when it comes to manners, politeness and sensible-ness (is that even a word?)....
Look at some of the other threads on the forum currently. Some of the more senior members have brought a variety of things to the forums to discuss and the community always has its say, even if it is to disagree but it is generally done in a constructive & mature way, which (back on topic) is exactly what he is trying to encourage.....
I hope you can understand this isn't a power trip for one individual but a great bit of fun for as many people who want to get involved.... Hopefully see you ingame at some point.

Meh. I do not think Range's forum game will have much effect on the posts. Look at my inane posts, do you think i'll get points for those? And, also, people judge you in RL on a daily basis. Like it or not. Some people even do it for a living (talent scouts). So in that aspect one could say that Range is starte his own dancing with the stars. lol Bottom line he is not competing with the devs, the community shield is awarded by STS for outstanding contribution, range is giving gold away to people who post things he likes.

And my point is that in several threads the post count seems to influence peoples ego's. I do not care that I only recently started to post on the forums. Why are you taking something lighthearted and meant to be positive, and turning it into something ugly? I really don't understand why you're getting so bent out of shape over this. If you read the 'tiff' you would realize that again one of my comments was not agreed with and thus a 'tiff' started. And my point is that in several threads the post count seems to influence peoples ego's. I do not care that I only recently started to post on the forums. So even the fact that you have more posts THAN (please note the difference between then and than :)) someone means next to nothing.
Sounds like you are trying to come to ... someones? rescue but really you only sound like an idiot right now. My point is that players like yourself think they can comment on my posts and think that their opinion trumps my argument because you do not like it.
