Hey all! I just recently got this game (however I have been playing sts games for around 4.5 years now) and I need some advice and answers.

First off, are these stats alright for my level? I feel like my damage is extremely low but I honestly have no clue.

Next, can someone please explain my role as a sorcerer in pve? Also, is this build good? I have no clue what to do with my skills.

Finally, is this gear good for my level, is it worth anything, and will anyone buy it if it is ;)?

Hi there. Not the end all word but here is my two cents, coming from a 41 mage through planar 3 and with full mythic gear.

Skills: You want to level up so spec for that and burn a respec later for end game. For levelling, stack your heal as was said already. 5/5. Your mana heal is going to be a mainstay in parties from brackenridge to tindirin and back to watchers tomb 4 for grinding. Fireball, don't get the armor reduc one. Useless for levelling.

Next is clock so you can snare mobs and do more damage over time. As was mentioned, you want to dish out as much damage as you can in large groups. No exploding at the end. Shortly in to 26-28, most mob groups are dying before it can be a benefit. Spell four is a swing. Dealers choice. Best recommendations are frost or lightning. At this point your group damage is doing enough that frost's Area of effect and damage over time profs are negligible but its damageisn't bad. Or lightning, as it can be a help for bosses as well.

Passives: I can not stress this enough. Do NOT use damage passives. They are broken with pet damage buffs and do not apply if your pet has a damage boost. Intelligence, yes. 5/5. My personal preferences therein are durable because I hate being too squishy and Festerdexterit
For crit and dodge boost.

Pets. If you can afford one snag a blinky. Inexpensive and his nuke AA is freaking useful for our role in a party. Also a good hand in xoloing.

Don't worry too much about gear until you're near the level cap, since leveling from 1-36 is pretty quick. You should refresh your gear at Lv25 then again at 32 then again at 36, again at 40 and finally 41. Don't go expensive with your gear until you reach Lv41. Alternatively sell your former gear when you refresh to recycle your gold.

For PvE, scrap curse and heal. Those aren't particularly useful in actual PvE. Instead, spec your skill points into Fireball, Ice, Time Shift, and Shield and then finally into Lightning. Fireball is an excellent AoE skill and is great for crowd control (cc) since it occasionally knocks down enemies (if you have the perk). Ice is also essential for cc since it slows or even freezes enemies or groups of enemies. Time Shift is really good for cc since it slows a large group of enemies and also has 3 main attack periods (initial drop, DoT, final explosion) when fully spec'd. Shield is essential for defense, as it is the one thing keeping sorcerers from being one-hit everywhere they go. Lightning should be spec'd and switched out in place of Time Shift for bosses, since its the most powerful attack a sorcerer has, yet it isnt an AoE spell. It has high damage and a high crit chance.
