Regarding your next question, I think its up to the teams to make the effort to contact each other on a suitable time for your matches. If course if one teams remains uncontactable or simply doesn't respond to pm and such that team will automatically be disqualified.

IMO if both teams just simply take screenshots of themselves and claim that the other team is not available, both teams should be disqualified to be fair to the others. But this is up to cherry to decide since its her event. I'll ask her to make a post to clarify this.

So our opposing team says the only time they're able to meet would be at 2 am my time. :/ For this reason, I'd like to ask if it would be ok for me to be replaced by someone else. 2am is way too late for me, especially today because I also have a cold.

I don't mean to be the one bailing, but I also don't think it's reasonable for anybody to request a match time that falls in the middle of the night on a weekday for several players. I would have been available all day long before midnight my time on any day. I think I've done my part about being flexible.

Please let me know and I'll post here the name of my replacement asap.

I'm disappointed how the match turned out. They were never in the same place at the same time. First Mandikah no others, then no mandi just zip. Then mandi n zip no hammer. Then no mandi, but zip and hammer. and hammer and zip left. Hard to coordinate across globe. It's 5:36 am here, Texas time. We stayed up for them we were on time, punctual. Just wish we could have had a real fight. Oh well maybe next team will be closer to us globe wise.

I'm posting on behalf of Smokester to say that our opposing team, team E, was not even online at 2 am after they're the ones who requested the time, which as I posted before was very inconvenient for my team.

Smokester and Nightarcher were both online and they were going to go ahead and do the battle even 2 vs 3, and Smokester is in the same time zone as me so he had to stay up until 2:15 am and lost sleep waiting for the other team and they never showed.

Get going people! :D. Post the AGREED time that your team will fight the other. That way, whoever fails to make it in the specified time, is disqualified. Otherwise, both teams will be disqualified, as I couldn't just judge which team to disqualify without reason.

If at least 2 members of your opponents turn up you can ask if they're willing to go 3v2. If yes then proceed with the matches. If no, take a screenshot and depending on whether cherry is willing to extend the deadline, the other team may get disqualified.

If only one of your opponents turn up take a screenshot anyway and we'll see whether the deadline is extended. If deadline not extended your team will automatically move to the next round.

we tried to make it work for a spam of 4-5 hours. I went into detail already on how this went down. None of them were on at the same time. It was like a revolving door of players for hours. We had a set and agreed upon time. They forfeited the match, we were only able to play one match bc mandikah had to leave and zip was alone. This is us showing yall that we tried, did everything to accommodate the oppenent. Remember we stayed up from 1 am to past 5 am waiting for them. We made this as convienent for them as possible since it was their daytime our EARLY morning LATE night. They switched times twice after our set agreed time that they established! They moved it two hrs sooner cancelled , then moved it to hours after. So we played when the most of them were on. And before they left.

I believe they're having an issue because nobody took a screen shot of the other team being there, which is just because nobody remembered the requirement at the time, especially considering it was 2 am and this was before all the posts emphasizing the importance of the screen shots for missing teams.

Given that the other team is actually admitting that they weren't there, could that be considered proof equivalent to the screenshot? I mean, what exactly is the dispute about here and what more would a screenshot prove, when the other side themselves just posted they weren't there? If anything a screenshot would be much easier to fake - anybody can take a screen shot of a team sitting alone in a forest haven map at some random time and claim the other team wasn't there.

I'm not asking for myself because frankly I don't care anymore. But it's unfair for Smoke and Nightarcher. They spent a lot of time trying to get this to work, contacting the other team who kept changing their minds about the schedule and so on. Even when your rules were not clearly phrased (and they weren't - for instance the first post made it sound like the deadline was the date of the match, and it took several uncleanly worded posts to clarify that you actually meant that's the time to submit the screenshots), or when the format was difficult to work with because we had to arrange all the scheduling ourselves, we did our best to make it work.

And now you're disqualifying the team based on a technicality, when there's not even a dispute about which side didn't show up, and listing the team as having violated the rules as if we were the ones who didn't keep our appointment. :/

Parth is saying he was there so he can testify. And one thing I should have mentioned before you started this. Android phones do not come with a screenshot ability. We have to hack our phones and then download an app. Then we have to open it, turn it on, and then get back on PL in time for it to snapshot. So it would be extremely inconvenient for a team with 3 Android phones, all not hacked.

Well, that's just a side case.

She did organize it, it is not her fault from this point. She clearly provided the rules, deadline, tourney match, pasted results on thread. It is up to ALL the player's to provide commitment as well. I understand many player's have, but there are those select few that don't. The only way to avoid that IMO is to not allow them to participate unless they are able to take the commitment seriously, thus making for a more organized contest.


EDIT: She gave a few days for the first match to find your opponent. People seemed to wait till the last day to complete it though.

So, the rule about sending a screenshot if the other team is NOT there is never mentioned in the original post. (In fact, it took a long while for that post to even be updated to explain the even more essential rule that the listed "round times" are actually deadlines and not match times.)

There are about 70 pages in this thread, and scattered in them are several rules which were added later, and yet the original post was either never updated with them, or only updated days after the posts, so that anyone wishing to know the rules would have had to read through the entire thread. So yes, my teammates are indeed guilty of not reading the fine print - all 70 pages of it, with new rules added almost every day this past week. Clearly everything was perfectly laid out and we are just incapable of following simple rules.

As for the gold, if I had know the hassle this would be, I would not have signed up for it - gold or no gold.

Mei.. to organise a big event like this for so many players from different time zones is no easy task. There are bound to be disagreements and conflicts and all you can do is try your best to resolve them. Not everyone can see, know and appreciate how much effort you've put in especially when you have to juggle work and other personal issues at the same time, so it really isn't the fault of anyone. Don't give up on the competition k, I'm still here to help you.. and I'm sorry I wasn't much help over the weekend due to my own commitments as well. Also, I'd like to thank you personally Christina for hosting and being dedicated to this tournament. I'm sure it was hard putting together (considering all of the time differences) but it's been turning out great. I understand your character can afford a Fury fights gem sword for a set at the moment, but once you give away the money your broke. If, at any time, i farm an item (such as the fury sword) it's yours, free (even if my team doesn't win the tournament). If it were me putting this tourney together, I'd struggle just to come up with 1.5 mill gold...even 1 mill.
