You have to root the device I believe.

Download ShootMe.

Not all devices have to be rooted for it to work.

I don't understand why anyone's first choice wouldn't be to google this question.

I use Shoot me but my phone is also rooted on a custom rom
If you can get it work when your done using it make sure to kill it with like a task killer I've found out it will kill a battery fast.

Like above posts said, ShootMe works great on some phones, others need to be rooted first.

Also, you can take screenshots with the aid of your computer.

Plug your phone into your computer, it should ask to download drivers. Do so.
select Settings on your menu
Then select Applications -> Development -> and enable USB debugging by placing a check in the box next to it.
You will have to download the Android SDK from http://code.google.com/android/download.html. (http://code.google.com/android/download.html) (it takes a while)
Select the Windows version, and save the file. It’s not a huge file, but it’s not small either. Depending on your Internet connection speed, it might take a while to download.
When finished, unzip the file
Now download the JDK (Java Developers Kit) from http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/. (there are a bunch of files to choose from, just choose the Java SE Development Kit.
Run the JDK install. Click Next until you’re done.
Now plug in your phone
Now, in the location where you unzipped the Android SDK, go to the "Tools" folder, and find a file called ddms.bat.
You might see a dialog box pop up asking to send usage statistics to Google. This is all up to you, it doesn't matter either way.
Then Click the Proceed button to finish opening DDMS.
The Dalvik Debug Monitor will open. Make sure your phone is listed in the upper-left window, and select it by clicking on it once.
To take a screenshot, select Device > Screen capture …
The Device Screen Capture window will open, and display whatever is being displayed on your Android phone.
Now, on your phone get the screen ready that you want to take a screencap of.
Click the Refresh button.
Your screencap should show up. Click the Save button.
Save it to your computer.
That's it!

Best part is, any android phone will work WITHOUT rooting.
