This issue is complicated but I'll try to sum it up.

Geo hotz aka George hotz created the jail break for the iPod. Then he made it for the ps3 and Sony sued him. The group anonymous (hackers) want Sony to pay for sueing geo and not allowing The flow of"free information"

Sony employes personal info in now public after the hacking and PSN is offline. Anonymous currenly still causeing havoc.
