I see people using (at) instead of @ with the email. Is there a reason why?

Yeah, putting @ instead of (at) makes it a clickable link and a valid email address, which makes it possible for spam bots to pick it up and spam it.
Using the "replace (at) with @" actually uses human intelligence instead of a spam bot :P
