Fossil is available for tokens in the test server. At this point, we don't know what kind of tokens or how many tokens it will take....

Yes you can farm a shard, a fossil, a maridos, even the next arcane pet are all for sale via tokens you earn on bosses of the Rage!!! WHOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Hm, wonder if this is true or not. I'm leaning towards not, has to be something we can farm for.. stsfibus said they'd post next week about the tokens and vendors.

I read that too , I think you can earn these tokens from new daily quest 1-2 each day . Maybe from boss with very low chance rate . Possiably you can loot these coins from new lock chest . If this is the case nothing really has changed expect distract you with leveling , same story different map

I thought they dropped from Rengol locked crates, in order to get those tokens you probably need to pop Lockeds again.

LOL. Definitely different than daily. It would be a kind of dream that we run few things for 3 months and you have a 25M fossil. Even if drops violently, it would be a 100K/day earn... Not possible - or arcane pets will became more common than Mythic pets.

I looted 8-10 Regnol Locked in test server, but new items drop disabled currently IMO.

But if it's 500 days(1year),by that time.the price of marines would have already drop to 1-2 million or maybe other cool pets may have been release,something like toor,I bet it's better than Maridos.and what's the difference between the Toor and Gold Toor?its just the appearance that is different but have the same stats and maybe 1-5 million difference in the price

The length of time it takes to get the best items is a fine line: It needs to be long enough that some people will still prefer to speed up the process using plat, but not so long that it just becomes ridiculous / tedious for people who don't heavily invest in plats and cause them to just give up on first the item and then the game. Once the length of time required to earn an item goes past a certain point it's just no longer appealing to even bother starting the process.

Given the choice of:

a) playing the exact same 3 maps on repeat every single day for over a year in order to complete a daily quest enough times.

or

b) blowing thousands of dollars on the game to earn all the items on the list in a month

I'd choice option c) not bothering at all.

Three months however would be a good timeframe. Long enough to require commitment but short enough that the goal holds my interest for the entire time.
