Just a screenshot for anyone interested.
It cost 5 plat to open it, and it gives one item only.
The first one I found gave 2,000 gold.
The second one (shown below) gave legendary armor.
Update:
3 crates with 2k gold each
1 crate with pink armor
Found in Breckenridge, windmoore harbor (2), kraag tomb 4.

I got one in rooks' hideout. Pretty sure they're dropping in all the "old" maps in place of old lockeds.

I also want to add to this thread about the crates. I don't know if it is intended or a bug but when the crates drop, fireworks don't shoot from it like the old locked. I've noticed that these drop from mobs more than they drop from bosses because the two I have managed to get have been from normal mobs.

We dont know that. Tokens have been disabled( no token option in satchel either) They could very well drop though i doubt it

I'm hoping that this is just 'placeholder' type loot as well.
Also wonder if the rumors about the crates dropping tokens will be true or not, as well as what other ways of earning the tokens will be available.

I think the tokens will drop like the teeths ultra rare!

The loot is just placeholder, there will be a lot more information regarding Crates in the near future! Watching everyone speculate however is quite a bit of fun! You all are a very clever community of players :)
