What happened to the friends feature on the forums?

I know this was taken away quite a while ago, but I never saw a reason why they took it away.
Devs, is the friends feature going to be added back to the forums?
Also is the feature to see who has viewed your profile, going to be added back to the forums?

i didnt have an account when you could have friends on the forum. but i would really like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds good to me - although there seems to be only a select few of us on here frequently, (hourly). Up the horns for the PL community>:)
