Walking while being under attacked

Ok, I don't know if it's lag or it's how this game works.. Either or, I HATE it!! Your trying to run away as you have low health and you got these cluster of monters attacking you. One of their attacks brings you back where u were half a second ago. So think about 15 of them attacking you at once. They just slowly bring u back while u can only advance barely even an inch Or they keep attacking and you can't even move!! Why? It's where most people get there deaths from. Very frustrating!

They have a chance to stun you when they hit you... so if you have 15 of them hitting you, it's pretty likely one of them will, and you won't get away.

I think the frustration stems from the feeling that you're getting away, but then being "lagged" back into the middle of the mobs. Is there a way to code this so that if we get stunned then we don't move away in the first place?
