Galatic overlord guide/help

Hello,
I was just wondering how to kill the Galatic Overlord, I've heard many people say don't you specials just auto on him, but when I did I just die in 1 hit.
Can someone tell me whats the best method to kill him and what the barrels are there for?
I am a level 45 enchantress.
I will gladly accept any help people are willing to give me in-game.

Barrels take down his shield, so does a archer's blast shot. USE YOUR SPELLS. I don't even know what those guys were talking about. intchantressses(my version of pure int enchantresses) don't really have much survivability, other than when your mana shield is up.
