View Full Version : We should be able to customize and organize our inventory!

I hate the fact that all my stuff is all jumbled up in inventory, we should be able to hit an edit button that is off to the side of our inventory and that should enable us to change the order. Also when we click the edit button it should have a list of "quick edits" that lets you edit them buy rarity, (pinks to whites, or whites to pinks. The list of items that have the same rarity will then go alphabetically) Alphabetical, (A-Z obviously) and maybe even buy what class they are for (items for the same class could be organized by what level and how much attribute points are need to use it).

Please leave your opinion. Thanks ahead of time!

strongly agree. The sorting by rarity will be fantastic = )

I'd rather have manual sorting than automatic by color or name, but even that would be a great improvement.

Well the cool thing about this is, is that if you are used to the order and like it, you can keep it that way!

yes, good idea. the chaotic ordering right now is bizarre, having to scroll up and down to see if you already have something ends up wasting unnecessary time.

The items are currently 'sorted' by order added (for both inventory and stash). We can easily change the sort order and make the next update. I don't think we will have time for anything beyond that until after 1.3. What sort order would be the most helpful? Name? Rarity and then name?

Rarity then level?

I'll just pull a Justg and make a poll once we get several suggestions.

I think class then rarity then level (highest level at the top lower levels at the bottom). So which ever class you are the items for that class are at the top of the list then rarity (pinks at top) then level. That's just my opinion! Thanks again Asommers!

EDIT: LOL! Sounds great!

Inventory should be in a grid type rather than a list.

Yeah, I'm diggin' the list format we have right now. Of course, I still want organization to be added.

Inventory should be in a grid type rather than a list.

I like that idea, but like Asommers said I think that will be in the future, since people are more demanding of pets and auctioning. So I think as of right now they are gonna focus more on those rather then smaller, lesser demanded patches.

P.S. 500th post! :D

I prefer lists, myself. You only have to scan in one direction. 2D arrays hurt my eyes.

All I'm planning on doing quickly (or not at all) is changing sort order. So far, I've got:

Leave it the way it is
Some combination of [name/rarity/class/level]

My opinion on that is: rarity/class/level/name. Seems the most logical.

What I meant by grid, is instead of text, items will be displayed in icons, contextual will appear when highlighted. Much like almost all other mmorpg, this can also accommodate non-equipt (stackable) items if it's ever going to be added.

Ah yes, like those rat's tails and grass clippings that every alchemist and his girlfriend want for that new potion they're making, which for some reason exist only in deep, dark, dangerous dungeons.

I agree, grid system for those, definitely.

My vote is class/rarity/level/name

Sorting via head gear/body armour/weapon/shield based on classes specification and then on level would make things easier to discover and more organized

My vote is class/rarity/level/name. :) Or, how about the idea that we can choose! :)

My vote would be an option switch, but the two big ones and reasons:
Rarity: Makes it a lot easier to dump the whites after a dungeon.
Name: Makes it much easier to identify duplicates.

My vote is class/rarity/level/name

x2 This seems appropriate

i like it the way it is now..but once u have your items organized the way u want them....u get a drop and it lands smack in the middle of everything not at the bottom of the list. I found this odd.... If you could make sure the drops lands at the bottom of ur item list that would be great.

I agree with others: class/rarity/level/name

The join screen is a good example of the widgets we would need to have user selectable sorting options. You can currently sort by name, level, campaign, etc., as well as have ascending/descending sort options. However, there's just no room on that screen for more UI widgets of any kind (on the iPhone/iTouch).

It would be a bit clunky, but the best thing would probably be a button that pops up a window (like help) to have you change the sort options.
