I'm not sure there's been official confirmation, but I'm sure STS is working on Android in-app purchases via the relatively new API Google has provided for use with the Android Market.
STS distributes through other methods, so they'll have to implement carefully, but it's doable and since they did it on the iPhone, I'm sure they'll eventually do it for Android.
Until then, you should be aware that the platinum for sale via the web site (https://auth.pocketlegends.com/WebStore/store.jsp) can be purchased using Google Checkout -- the same method you'll use with the Android Market if you're not using carrier billing. But they also support Paypal and Amazon payments, so there are plenty of options to buy platinum. :)
