Yeah, but the news usually comes with the update. The only time that didn't happen was with the pocket legends shield.

The update was a fix to the problem where you would no longer be able to join or host a game.
Specifically, it was if someone died to a dot in an arena, they would have the problem, and they would spread the problem to anyone they traded/gifted with, killed in pvp, or died to in pvp.
