Lagging-Ping?

Since the update seems like the lagging is dreadful. Is there a suggestion here? I am getting "frozen" and when it unfreezes I am usually dead....I know it has something to do with the Ping but not sure what or how to fix...

This happens to me a lot even if my wifi connection is excellent. It would be cool if you couldnt get hurt when your game freezes.
