Lol then we would have a lot of twinks with maxed out pets running around pvp. They are already there from the auto level button glitch. No need for any more of it.

Plus the egg market would crash to nothing. Arcane eggs are already cheap enough.

Something better if you want to implement this system sould be to as suggested before make your current pet into its egg form. Now when it is turned into its egg form its level resets to 1 and it is locked to your account preventing you from selling it.
Now to add even more protection from people abusing this you can have each pet be able to be made into an egg only ONCE per account, NOT per character. This means wheb it is opened again it can't be turned back into an egg.

That already is a feature, there are several people trying to sell accounts in towns. Features called: Get dosh with no consequences.
