There's about 20 posts on FB of people moaning about it. Look back to the first one, there is a reply from devs saying it is a normal update

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm why doesn't it say what update is on forums? Maybe aliens from ao3 or bandits from sewers took over spacetime and then pulled out all the plugs or whatever keeps pl running then they are making the game from lvl 1-56 full of 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 0 bandits and aliens to fight! Shouldn't be elixers. That was to come with the next version 1.7.1.2 or whatever its called. Would have required a patch since it was going to Apple for approval

The elixir update is weeks away... It hasn't even been submitted to Apple for approval yet.
