hey ever one - (what is up bears)

what would you choose?

fury or royal plate and helmet?

fury helmet = 12 str, 6 dodge, 6 h, 6 m, 34 armor, red gems
royal helmet = 12 str, 8 dodge, 8 h, 36 armor, green gems

fury plate = 12 str, 6 dodge, 6 h, 6 m, 58 armor, red/gold
royal plate = 12 str, 8 dodge, 8 h, 60 armor, cool green color

im not really worried about price, and i like that i dont see very many ppl with the royal stuff...

over all goal to get armor as high as possible with high hit, high crip and high dps. .. as possible

im lvl 52 going on 53 bear and will buy armor now to get motivated to lvl up.

If you don't have a fury sword and shield to make a full fury set, go for the royal sewer items. They have a bit more armor, h/s, and dodge.

The problem with Fury is that it has an atrocious hit%. Taunt and Beckon start not working as well when your hit gets below about 88 or so, and Fury is somewhere in the 70s for pure Str bear. A lot of the top bears use a mix of Fury and Fortified with a Rooter/Bodyguard weapon....what worked for me was a 56 Crown, Rooter's Sword (little bit of m/s, plus a hit bonus) or a Bodyguard Axe/Swprd (lose the m/s, but I think it is +12 armor), Royal Armor, and a Cleaner or Bodyguard Shield. Can keep your hit about 90, Armor about 165-180, dodge will be all right (and dodge just as impt as armor for a tank), and you will need to use a few mana pots but not too many. If you are 53 and can't get a Crown, try looking at a Rooter Helm to keep some m/s and hit%, or a Sewer helm if they are not still too expensive at 53....might be better to stick with a Rooter until 55, don't waste a ton of money on 51/53 sets, just my opinion.

Fury is totally overrated for bears. It has super high m/s and doge, but all you need on a bear is about 6-10 m/s and you will never need mana pots even spamming skills if you are close to 10. Fury is designed for pallys, as the mage skills eat a lot of mana whereas bear's don't.

Yes, you get an additional 6 H/s, 6 M/s, and 2 armor. I would go with what moogerfooger said though, having high hit% is necessary to become a good tank. With low hit%, beckon will hardly work. If you want to sacrifice armor for high damage, dps, crit, etc, you could respec to a dex bear. In my opinion, it's very easy to tank with a dex bear if you're stocked up on pots and your beckon will hit all the time. You could easily keep aggro with high damage, making it a lot easier to tank.

You are looking pretty good...may want to get your armor to 150+, Cleaner's may do it if you can get a 53 for not too much. The rest of your stats look pretty solid. Going Sewer Plate at 55 will boost your armor and dodge significantly :D

Sorry, a Crown is the Crown you get from grinding to 56, disregard what I said, I was just mentioning it as a end-game setup.

What Cryoblade said about dex bear is applicable as well. What I did is go dual spec str/dex 50/50...have to use some pink lvl 45 booster sets in order to equip the 55 gear, but it allows me to switch back and forth from str gear to dex gear if I need to. Again, a lot of top bears do this as well. Ellyidol has excellent dual spec guides for lvl 50 and lvl 55/56 in his signature, if you see posts from him :D The good thing about dual spec is that your armor stays pretty high overall...my base stats at 56 are 142 str/142 dex (was 138/141 at 55), and my armor was still around 160-170 in str gear, and when I switched to dex gear I still had 105ish armor but could deal good point damage with my bow.

great info, i was farming to day and a bird got the royal armor so i bought it for 140k and got the helmet in cs for 74k

so i guess im going to go with that, i will respec the bear as we go forward, to that i can wear the lvl 55 armor and then add as much to dex as i can to increase the other good parts....
