So I put together a chart to show what the new platinum elixirs cost in real world dollars. I did separate columns for each method of buying plat, based off:
-30 plat for $4.99
-75 plat for $9.99
-165 plat for $19.99
-800 plat for $49.99
-2000 plat for $89.99.

Thought it might be useful to others out there!

UPDATED: To included 800 and 2000 plat levels.

NEW UPDATE: STS changed the prices at launch,so I have updated the below table accordingly. I'll keep the old one just for reference.

The 30 minute ones are over half of what most peoples wages are!

lol, yeah I guess they are really just there for rich people. It's crazy cos it's not like your actually buying anything at all, all you're buying is some sort of stat boost for a limited amount of time.

Hopefully no one uses them, so then they come back as gold buys! :D

Just had an idea! How would people feel about paying say 75 platinum for a permanent 2x XP or even 3x XP on a character. I think that would be way better. A permanent XP elixir!

WOW, didn't even know those options were available. That's like buying an xbox 360/PS3 game or two.

I will update for you!

I was considering buying a large platinum pack to get these "super" elixirs. I thought that maybe getting the really big pack, like the 2000 plat would push down the price to a manageable sum, but after seeing these calculations, the price is still too high to make it worthwhile to use, pushing me from wanting to spend $50-$90 to $0.

I think the prices are still too high. If they lower the plat cost, they can decrease the "have money threshold" from "people who are willing to throw money around like its nothing" to "Anyone with a decent paying job and loves the game and wouldn't mind investing"

Okay....thanks for the perspective. I have a good income and am willing to spend plat on a regular basis for this game. But....over $4 for 30 mins of the strongest elixir? Even I would have a hard time translating that into something that seems worthwhile (unless I am REALLY sleepy and only a few runs away from new cap :)). I know the devs are continually revamping and restructuring prices so hopefully threads like this and the feedback in them will spark an decrease. Like I said, I don't mind putting up real life money for the game but it can't be more than my mortgage every month! :)

This is very helpful and informative! Was hoping to see someone compile all these numbers in one place.

While i do agree that the wicked dumpster pot (40 plat) is expensive, it pretty muh gives you god mode for 30 minutes though. 3x armor and damage with super fast movement? Every mob will die in one cruelblast or hotflash combo. And even with and 85 armor (roughly what RR has), that's ~250 equivalent.

It's kinda like Nissan for example. They have cars for 10k, 15k, 20k and so on. Then again, they have the gt-r at 85k, whih i'm sure is not really made with the intention of seliing it to the masses. Same as the elixirs, they have the regular products, and then they have a high end one.

So in other words....I could play like you for 30 mins Sky../? Lol....sign me up! ;)

Yeah, if you price the god elixir too low then you really break the game, so in a way it is good it is overpriced.

Updated the original table with the STS launch prices (50% less).
