So long story short. I'm a Canadian born British citizen. And I want to move out there! But the problem is. I have no idea what to do to get things rolling. I don't know anybody over there. And I'd have no job or place to live

Any British folk have any ideas how I can start things rolling? How hard is it to get a job? And is it expensive to live out there?

EDIT: apparently i cant change my title, it should say British ><

Hey Zojak

I'm in the UK and could offer any advice you need. Feel free to PM me or reply here.

Basically sounds like you've got two things to sort out. Passport & Work

Passport should be pretty easy if you haven't already sorted it. If you've got a british birth certificate you should be able to contact the British High Commission. Try here (http://ukincanada.fco.gov.uk/en/help-for-british-nationals/passports/) or here (http://ukincanada.fco.gov.uk/en/help-for-british-nationals/citizenship). These should help. I've got dual nationality (UK & NZ) but I would check the requirements for canadian citizens, as you may have to relinquish your canadian citizenship if they don't allow dual citizenship, which would be a huge decision.

Re: work. I'd suspect that's down to the type of trade/experience/qualifications you have. You should be able to find hundreds of job agencies online to get the ideas flowing, but remember many might not start the ball rolling until your passport is sorted. Try to find ones that specialise in your skills.

Drop me a PM with what your plans are, what hobbies/interests you have and i'll try to send you some more stuff. Many people head straight to London, but the UK has so much more to offer.

Cities aren't my thing. lol.

Good Luck with it all.
