Need advice Please?

Hi everyone,

I'm still new at building my level 46 Warrior. Can I know why Galen's Mauls has lesser DPS than Dirt Thumper but both got the same 50 Str 31 Dex. Why is it there will be much lesser damage (-46.2) if I use Dirt Thumper?

Maul is made for DMG.
As you see other mauls
Arcane maul
Dev maul
Entom hammer ( maul)
Bulwark is made for armor
Also how it look
maul look like weapon for damage enemies.
And bulwark look more as protection weapon.
Why? I don't know maybe based on look. But well style of weapon also say much about it.
If there will be maul and it will not give DMG or bulwark without armor it will be weird right?
