Nothing will happen. My fiancee told me about it and said he also made the same claim in the '90s (world coming to an end). What do you know? I'm still here.

He (Harold Camping, the man who made the prediction) is a Christian, and from what I understand he is also an engineer. He uses come number formula (based partially on the bible) to estimate the time of the rapture, but I'm not sure if I can get past the fact that he has already predicted that the it would occur in September 1994.

When I was young I was talking to my grampa about Jesus coming back b4 I got a chance to get older and live. This is what he told me. " Josh I've been hearing the lord will come back any day now for over fifty years. Good thing I wasn't holding my breath." that conversation happened over 15 years ago. But by all means let's get scared again. And ppl wonder why I stay as far away from churches as possible. On Sunday mornings you can find me in pl(or maybe wondering around the forums seeing how I am spending more and more time there/here.)

It shud have been the primary phase of a Scorn offensive. Errors were made and those responsbile have been executed. Diara does not allow failure. I just /facepalm whenever I see their posts which really have nothing to do with the threads they post in.

I don't see why people keep believing in these nonsense doomsday predictions. They keep failing to occur and yet people still keep believing in them. Supposedly when we had that huge moon a couple months ago, the world was supposed to end because it'd throw our lunar cycle and everything that depends on it out of whack. Yeah that didn't happen.

Huge moon theory huh? I missed that one. There is a scientific theory that states the moon is traveling away from the Earth as a very slow pace, and after X amount of time the moon will be far enough away that it will affect the tides and duration of daylight (this will take millions of years as the moon is moving away at a rate of about 1" per year). Not a doomsday theory, but it seems that all of these are based on some sort of mathmatical/scientific equation with a bit of just crazy sprinkled on top.

Sorry if priest read the bible (revalations) it state only god onlyone who when the world gonna end. This is epic fail and any predicting doomsday and 2012 = epic fail. Science is easily minipulate/falsified /and flat wrong 90% of the time.

Not sure where you heard about that date, but if it's the 2012 prediction based on the Mayans' calendar then the date is the winter solstice (December 21, 2012). It's based on the Mayas' calendar cycle that ends every 5,125 years which will fall on the aforementioned date.

Harold Camping has publicly announced his prediction was 5 months off (originally the rapture was supposed to occur May 21, 2011 and the end of the world was to happen October 21, 2011) so that will be his third failed prediction.
