Hey, I just tried to rename my thread in edit, however it only changes the name in the post, not in the forum. Example (http://www.spacetimestudios.com/showthread.php?27165-B-T-gt-35-Twink-gear&p=307305#post307305)

If you wait too long it only renames the one. As to why, I have no idea. I think it's been mentioned and not fixed, so I'm not sure its a bug.

I'm pretty sure it's not a bug. They just prevent you from changing the title so you don't scam people.
