Need help with getting my free platinum........

im making this thread again cause apparently it got deleted along with my username for some reason.....

any ways having the same problem i cant get to the free platinum i dont have no ad blocker i deleted everything when set to factory default then re-installed p.l. and it still didnt work i have tried everything i can think of any1 else having this problem im using a epic 4g galaxy s froyo android device.

Having trouble with the tap joy apps isn't necessarily an issue with STS. In most cases it's an issue with tap joy. In your case I would suggest contacting them to figure out why their system isn't working.

there is no adblock on my phone i deleted eveything off of my phone so if it was its gone when i wiped everything off

the only thing i can think of that could be the problem is that i need to be on a stock rom but im not sure why that would matter.

yup....looks like u have a custom ROM? mine stopped working when I went to a custom ROM. never cared to find a solution tho.....

I'm running a custom ROM on my phone, i had the exact same problem as you when I started playing PL. Just ensure that you have not got an Ad-Blocker app enabled.

and i remove my adblock
btw.. i had custom ROM at android 2.2 and its all work fine!
and when i update to android 2.3 i Suddenly cant get that free platinum..(same problem like u)

Sometimes uninstalling the adblocker will not undo the changes it made, so you'll have to manually edit your hosts file. There are a few different ways to do so. You can at least check out your hosts file using Estrong's File Explorer, downloadable from Market. You will probably need it to make any changes afterwards, either using ADB from a PC or directly from the phone.

Install Estrong's, open it up. Get to system/etc and find your hosts file. Open it as Text and have a look. Be warned it's a LOT of scrolling. The line you're looking for is "127.0.0.1 ws.tapjoyads.com".

If you want to try removing it directly from the phone, you will have to allow writing of system folder. This is risky, don't go deleting files at random! In Estrong's: press Menu, go to Settings and scroll down to Root options. Tick Mount File System. Do the same as above, but this time delete that specific line and save the changes. Now go see if you can load up on free plat!

Kind of late, maybe that can still help? If the above doesn't work, I can see about linking or typing up an ADB walkthrough that makes the edit easier.

i check several times and o dont have that line...Well, I can have a look if you can somehow get your hosts file to me, or you can look around for an unaltered hosts file and just paste it over your current one? If you're still using Estrong's that is. Mind you I don't know if that will work, or how risky it is, but if you're desperate and have backups made anyway you could have a go.

If you're familiar with ADB, you can hook the phone up to your PC. Then just use search in Notepad instead of the mind boggling scrolling necessary in Estrong's.

It's funny when I tried to open the file through the phone I did not find that line
and only when uploading the file to my computer and opened it? suddenly I see plenty of lines that I didnt saw through the application!

I had a tough time trying to figure out why I couldn't get tapjoy to come up. For the longest time I would get the "web page unavailable" message. This is my story and my solution.
Initially I had rooted my droid2 and installed an ad blocker(ad free), then verizon released gingerbread and unrooted my phone but still kept the ad blocker.
I deleted the adblocker in hopes that it would let me get into tapjoy....WRONG!!!
After many stuggles and RE-ROOTING with "one-click root." I re-installed the ad blocker and used the REVERT button within the adblocker. That did it!! I hope this solution helps someone as it did for me :)
