Being as elderly as I am, my learning curve isn't huge, hence why I still play pl. I like the idea of getting my own gear and achievements, but I don't want something with 2000 customizable sets. I just have pc tab and phone, but not opposed to getting PS or XBOX if the game is that worthwhile.

The best pvp I've ever played has been PL back in the day. Which is saying something because I've played a LOT of mmos. Nothing compared to capture the flag back in 2010 with the legends. However, the closest I've ever come to having as much fun as PL pvp has been in Guild Wars 2. The game is ridiculously good in every aspect of the game, not just pvp. Sadly, it's pvp state at the moment is hideous since they released an expansion and haven't put any balance patches through yet. But give them time, and I'm sure it will be up and going again smoothly. I'd recommend Guild Wars 2. It's not too complex like some mmos, but it's just complex enough to pick up from the basics of what you know in PL and have a good time.
