The new toxicology quest can be completed buy killing the silklight shadows. I killed meathead in FH 6 and got nothing, then I decided to continue farming and I killed one of the Shadows and got the item to complete the quest.

I believe you are supposed to kill Meathead in FH 1 in order to complete the quest. FH 6 is a boss gauntlet and even though the boss dungeons have completed quests before, I believe that devs are trying to eliminate that aspect of the game and force players to actually progress through the maps as planned.
Edit: You are correct about the Silknight shadows registering as Meathead (somehow) and completing the quest.
