I think an "auto matchmaker" for pvp would also increase its usuage. That way if you arent online with friends, a team will automatically be found for you. (vs makng a game and waiting for player to join/find you.) I'm envisioning something similar to halo /COD matchmaking progress.
This way we fill all games one at a time. People get a fuller pvp experience much more quickly and efficiently.
I'm not saying drop private games, just set up a matchmaking process with a lobby (Maybe something similar to towne) while you are waiting for the lobby to fill with enough random players to start playing.
