i'm using Photoshop CS5, this sig had a total of 19 different layers, and that doesn't include effects.

there is a text tool in photoshop swim.

Kind of dark, so it's a little hard to focus on the focal.

You may also want to work on creating more depth. Sharpen the focal area a bit, and blur the background.

I'm guessing you used a tutorial? Here are a (http://www.gfxeffectx.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1109) few other websites (http://www.guildinn.com/) that I've found some very helpful tips and tuts.

I'm not a big fan of text, and I usually only put it in for recognition purposes (as in my sig), but I think you worked it in pretty nicely. Is the text the top layer? If so, I would suggest putting it a few layers underneath, or adding some effect layers on top of it. It just incorporates it into the sig a little better.

The colors look pretty good, and the render is blended nicely as well.

Overall, I'd give it a 5.5/6 out of 10. Very nice job for your first! :)
