It is always a good idea to wear armor and weapons that gives you extra mana regen, here's what i am using:

Staff +1 (cash shop):

With full int this grants me +7 mana regen, which allows me to cast as many spells as i need without
ever needing a single potion =)

PS: Using a staff that gives +1 mana regen (lvl25 staff) doesn't give me +8 total regen at my current level for some reasons... both setups grant me +7, it is probably related to the total int, and with this staff i get +2 health regen which is quite useful in many situations




Some people might prefer staves that give extra HP regen, it's useful for the AOE types out there as they won't have to cast healings as often =P (and the regen stacks with blessing of vitality for a total of +4 HP regen =D)

^ Looted from a chest on the first level of Fathom Crypt, i have noticed that jeweled items only (i have to check this) drop from chests ^_^ (good luck if you are going to farm for this staff)

thnx u for the great guide, from your stats i believe u put everything into int... r u having trouble hitting the mobs? are u missing a lot of spellls attack? do you need dex?

i am soo against all points into int, mana regen is meh in this game, and i think its silly not to use potions. there is no use for gold in this game so far and i dont see it really changing so why wouldnt you use pots? i like more int than str, but i get more hp and armor from it

I might just remap later but i cast really a lot (i'm Gigahertz this is my new forum account) and i only use pots
when my regen can't keep up, anyway it is only a matter of personal taste, i am not saying that you HAVE to map full
int =D, it's just the way i do things - also i don't miss my attacks often ^^

how can you have level 0 (zero) in frostbite? when i level to level 4, i automatically spend 1 skill point into frostbite....i hate it.... can you please tell me how?

Drain Life, Weakness and Nightmare, any of them AOE effects or just single target?

Drain life is a single target spell, i have tried it, i don't know about weakness or nightmare but i'm 99% sure they are single target too ^^. I have remaped my attributes babimete which is why i have 0 points in frostbite =)

From a min/max standpoint, mana per second is a complete waste. With the lack of use for gold, you should be stacking pots and using them liberally. This allows you to replace mps gear for crit (you should have enough dex to be hit capped). I personally wouldn't put points into str. If you're having trouble dying, give the tank a couple extra seconds before going aoe wild. For me, I itemize crit>dex>int. Anything else is a waste.

Edit: nightmare and weakness are aoe.

First off, debuffs are AOE from what Im told..., so they might actualt be really good. Right now I have mana shield though.

Secondly, M/s IS important, and though u may rely on pots now the game will change when trading and more content is added. That being said I'm 1-10-125 and I think that investing in dex for crit is a smart move, but having a large mana supply is also important. Getting an extra 6 crit and having 16 crit but a poor mana supply isn't a smart move.

Lastly.... Tank wand chanters know nothin else but teh wand matters ATM

Awesome and thanks for this post. Can't wait till I hit level 20 later and get that mana spell. Also is it worth putting more than one point into the aoe freeze spell? Or should I put those other 4 points into life drain? My lightning and fire spells already maxed

Nope it's not worth putting more than one point in that AOE spell ^^, putting your remaining points into life drain is a good idea =)

Something you might want to add to your guide is the combo's available. Both with your own class and others. (well, for others I can only think of chickens Thorn Root + lightning)

weakness + nightmare means less hit (if they do stack together)....in which would leads to the same effect but without loosing any mana...
it's just comes up to my head, dunno about the validity of this theory...

I believe mana shield is CRITICAL to survival.

A temporary 2x hp pool + 12 Armor Rating? FTW.

another question would be...
when casting debuff... like nightmares and weaken, how are they actually working?

A. when u use the skill mobs around you are debuff for 2 minutes

B. doesn't really matter where do u cast debuff.... for 2 minutes, mobs around you are all weaken...

so which one is it?

The skills have CHANGED now, new pics needed, or old ones updated. They went old a while ago. BTW a combo list would be very helpful. I only know one: Ice storm, fire storm. Freeze them then burn them for a gang-smashing bonus. Up to 30 kills in 2 spells. I have firestorm and ice storm maxed so I can do this as good as possible.

Regen is king :P until PvP that is.
Anymore these days PvP is now about max damage. Your regeneration wont help you when you get 1 second pwned by a bird.

He reset his skills using plat then u can pick what skills u have points in

You will find out later in the game that 5 heal (leaves) are crucial. At low levels mages are so good that they don't really need it. Things will start changing at lvl 30 though.

How can a lvl 2 mage have 5 skill points on some skills? Edit, i understand now. It's the level at which the pictured skill becomes available, the appointed stats dont mean anything.

A good way to have good health and mana regen is have attributes half str half int. My friend piplet is lvl47 with 11 health regen and 12 mana regen.
