Android 5+ has a built in screen-reccording API, so no need to root anymore.

When I wrote "built in screen-recording API", I meant that google allows the use of 3rd party apps to be allowed to let the user record their screen without having to access root permissions.

only thing that actually works well is display recorder from cydia(jailbreak). other than that i believe you can plug it into your pc and record that way. not sure how though

I know that iOS 9 has a built-in screen recorder called "Apple Replay Kit"... (I know it works with Call of Champions)

my iOS devices are so old that Apple ReplayKit doesn't work.
But I'm guessing the kit is built in, so all the devs need to do is implement the API..

If your device is not above Android 5.0, then you require Root permissions for screen recording to work.
Android KitKat (4.4.4) and below do not have the built-in screen recording API

Just tried out lollipop and it's not bad! Funny how it recorded my password entering! Gotta be careful with these things!
