which type of sword/axe/ etc..

When you like to Tank, ill think an axe and a shield are good for you(lv. 5-20flaming moon axe, lv 20-30 conquerrors board and nail, lv 30 frosty hatchet of the bear with the frozen shield of ahnold)

When you like to Deal damage, Set on dex and buy dual daggers. When you dont like to spend platinum, buy a warhammer or a battlesword(lv. 5-19 a battlesword, lv19-27 battlehammer of the bear, lv27-30 battlesword of ahnold, lv30Iceberg Frozen Battlesword)

End-game:

1H : Any 1H Sword. Axes show more base damage, but 1H Swords give more skill damage - which is more essential in doing more damage.

2H : Gurgox Hammer

I dont think Swords are better than axes, Swords havent as many armour as an axe, so you cant Tank with them and a sword have a terrible damage! The bist reason to buy a sword is the man reg and the hit %, but an axe have higher crit, dodge, damage, armour and health reg

Trust elly- swords giveskill damage and so you do more damage overall- in the case the fury sword also makes a set making it #1

Elly was referring to the skill damage - and that for end game bears. And there, despite the higher base damage and DPS of axes, swords are the better choice to tank.
You deal the bigger chunk of damage with your skills, bears shouldn't chase mobs with their axe. :)

To compare, equip an axe and check the damage of your stomp on your skill page. Then equip the equivalent sword and check again, you'll notice the higher damage.

Only difference between a 55 1H Sword vs a 55 1H Axe is base/skill damage. Swords give more skill, Axe more base.

You can't compare a rooters to a cleaners or something else.

When comparing two like things, swords will have higher skill damage.

Attribute Damage, yes the Zuraz Shock Lance would show higher.

BUT, the way devs have worked it, Level 45 weapons don't give as high skill damage vs 50/55 weapons.

I don't have numbers for the proportions, but I've been told that higher level weapons give more skill damage than lower level weapons even if the lower level weapons have more weapon damage.

Tbh, I wish there was a more consistent way of being able to know which 1H weapons do better. Another drawback to being a bear :p
