Eh, I'm not loving the effects going over the focal. I usually try and keep my focal pretty clear of effects so that it is still the eye-catcher of the piece.

The colors look great though! Keep working at it!

No flames.. totally agree. In this particular case I like it this way.. don't have to see her ;)

Prefer the updated version. Looks very nice! The only thing I would recommend now would be to blend the Katy Perry render, just so that it doesn't look like it is slapped on top of the background.

Sorry if I may be sounding a little hypocritical of myself, but I suggest to incorporate some of those smudging techniques just onto the outer sections of her "neck-down" area. You still want to keep her head clear of nearly all effects, as it is the main focal point.

Also, maybe put some lighting points near the render, for example, maybe just above her left shoulder, and the bottom and to the right of her right arm.

Overall, yes, the updated version looks much better in my opinion!
