I really would like to have a custom avatar for my profile, is there a reason why we cant or am I missing something and a method to make mine customized?

Not only custom avatars, but custom pictures in our signatures would be great also. That way me, and many other people can stop doing this:

You can't see the difference?

Yes- I can definitely see the bravery in the eyes:)
It would be wonderful to have our own avatar pics... It allows us to personalize more...
