Okay It would be nice if i can get some of those pro mages advice. I'm a dex pally right now and im considering going back to pure (tough choice) but i'm having a tough time remembering where good attributes go. I know some points should go in to dex (at least that's what i'm going for). How many would give for a good build?

EDIT: wow i spelled quick wrong in title haha

Some players have recommended putting 67 points into dex to use the dex rings. It's a popular build right now. I think that you're probably going to have to try various combinations of dex and int to see what works best for you.

On the other hand, I'm a beginner at pvp myself, so maybe my opinion shouldn't have much weight in your decision making.

I'm currently on the 67 dex, rest int build.. basically the same damage as a pure, with a tiny bit more hit and one more crit.

I'm a pro nuke mage and I have all points into int. One of the recent updates changed the importance of having dex for hit and crit. My hit is at 100 and my crit is 15 (75 when buffed). I say go pure int. My skill points are: Lightning, heal, firestorm, weakness, BoM and BoV maxed at 6; drain life at 4 (I'm currently maxing this one); i think I have 2 in weakness; shield, rev, and frost storm at 1; and 0 in the single target freeze (I respeced it out). Buff BoM and BoV before you get to the mob or boss then cast weakness, lightning, frost and firestorm. If your soloing you'll have to cast lightning again to finish them off. After you play a map a lot you'll learn where and when you need to use your mana shield. I always run out front and try to wipe everything out and hog all the kills for myself. haha.

Tactics will differ substantially in PvP compared to PvE. Current distribution of attribute points for mages are:

Enchantress

Hit% = 65.456 + (DEX x 0.167) + (INT x 0.1) + Hit% from equips

Crit = 1.496 + (STR x 0.03) + (DEX x 0.032) + (INT x 0.02) + Crit from equips

Dodge = 1.49 + (STR x 0.025) + (DEX x 0.0125) + (INT x 0.005) + Dodge from equips

H/s = 0.685 + (STR x 0.02) + (DEX x 0.01) + (INT x 0.005) + H/s from equips

M/s = 0.78 + (INT x 0.02) + M/s from equips

Damage = 7.47-13.47 + (STR x 0.02) + (DEX x 0.15) + (INT x 0.08) + Damage from equips

DPS = 8.8143 + (STR x 0.0167) + (DEX x 0.125) + (INT x 0.067) + (Damage from equips / weapon speed)

Although this information is now several months old, there have been no changes on these attributes - current updates have not changed the importance of hit and crit.

I thought it used to be that only dex added to hit %? I thought I read somewhere that they changed that? I could be wrong though.
Also, I don't PvP. :)

Edit: I don't see where the OP mentioned anything about PvP? Maybe I'm overlooking it? My build and tactics are for PvE and they work wonderfully.
