Hey NoobianOfAlterra, After looking over your reqeust, it appears as you already got the proper build for what you are trying to do :). So I will just offer some tips for you to build on.

Full Dex Birds cause massive damage. When combined with proper buff timing, bows, and well setup combos, you can clear any mob in seconds.

When rushing, your biggest problem will be mobs hitting you very hard. So what I recommend is to not hit the mobs until you get deeper in. What I mean by that is run directly into the mob, do not fire. Wait until you get a good amount in front and behind you, or until a team-mate hits the mob. With this build, your goal will be to maximize your kill count. Time your buffs to be active at the point you run into the mob. Then cast debuffs on the biggest group, and blast them away with a combo. If you do this properly, you can average anywere from 50-85% of the kills in a game.

Back to bows - You will always always ALWAYS want to use bows. Talons and Shields lower your DPS and spell damage, meaning you wont be getting that impressive kill ratio per game.

Debuffs - Like I said, always plant your debuffs on the enemy, before you blast them away.

Buffs - In PvE, you will start to figure out the perfect times to use buffs. That way you can use the most of the duration, and let it cool down in the less crowded areas. Try to plan it so that your buffs will be active on the most condensed parts of the map. This way you get tons of kills.

Group Location - As a rusher, you already know what to do. Your goal is to kill your mob, before your group even gets to them. Another possible location you can do is Ninja. Basically, stay in the middle of the group, use same rushing tactics to kill mobs, but instead of firing before your group, fire about a second after your group starts to attack. You can ninja kills this way and still receive a very large kill ratio per game.

A: Depending on the scenario, I do all of the above but the majority is aggressive group combo setup and destroy (I run near or at the front and run into a mob, thorn wall (for the mage and the cruel blast). I do your ninja approach in sewers and shadow caves and try to pull as little as possible to not overcome myself and the group.

A: Both - Being new to sewers and shadow caves, I've been leaning now towards armor and dodge to stay alive. I find it much harder to run into the center of the mob in these areas but will do if the group is strong enough to handle the amount of enemy pulled.

A: I'm basically looking for a build to survive sewer runs and shadow cave runs without dying (I have about 22k kills and just over 300 deaths). I'm a full Dex bird currently using two drainers and one bagmans gear for balance.

A: Both I'd say, damage is nice but go splat too much. Right now use mainly armour unless there is a good mage that will help keep me alive.

A: Generally run with SK bow and drainers head/body, I do switch to bagman w/ raid recurve for bosses or when I trust the group (mage specifically) I'm with. Was actually looking at (maybe) dual spec to wear high level bear gear for non-boss part of runs... Currently full dex, do have the plat to respec

well pios seeing as your mainly pve then you want points in thornwall, this is to keep the group still so a mage can perform nature strike and it makes it easier for you to hit more enemys with cruel blast. now the none aoe (area of effect) moves if try to use them as much as possible on bosses, this greatly helps your team. now how to time your moves, wait for the bear to beckon and stomp, this causes the smash combo. thats when you should thornwall and cruel blast, this way your getting most of the kills. hope this was help full :)

pvp combo for mage: all mages at 55 will mana shield, so blast shot to take it down, then break for maximum damage with the rest of the combo armour blinding shot to stop their combo hitting you and repulse shot for the extra damage to finish them off.
Pvp combo on bears: depending on the bear you will need a different combo if its a dodge bear with drainers or fury set then you need to start with root blast blind break repulse. if its a bear with fortified RR of custom then theres no need for root. a quick sweet combo will kill them. anymore help needed just reply or message me. for birds i recomend custom auto bow set. the better range, regen and armour will come in handy, also it has higher crit then RR.

hi alex, welcome to PL, where to start...? some tactics for soloing areas maybe? if youre soloing ao2 then what i suggest is running into a mob wait for them all to crowd round you so that more enemys can get hit by cruel blast. you can either thorn wall before or after you cruel blast, i prefer before personally but its up to you,

now onto gear. when you hit 45 you want all your stuff to be of isis, this way you lose very little mana cos of regen, for your weapon you want a red scarab bow,with full dex this bow can hit around 180- 200 dps i think. but for your current level you want Sniper's Scorpion Leather & helm, shivering ice talon (best talon til you hit 45) and menes wing of horus. if you can afford all this stuff then your in luck cos theyre quite pricey i think, if not the stick with shivering set til 45.

my play style is usually- go right into the heart of battle and start throwing combos (if there is a bear, wait till he pulls them combo). Kite till my skills recharge and repeat. However after starting the alien maps, I find I die more often (went from 25 deaths to nearly 70 :/ ) how's your guys strategies? Should I just stay back more often?

Hey, Bud. :)

Going by your play-style, figuring you like to rush ahead, because you like to tank. That said, you should go pure dex. You like damage and pure dex pumps out the most damage you can get. Since it's pvp, be quick at what you do. Buff--> Debuff--> Combo. Buff: Focus & Evade (Both at 6). Debuff: Break Armor, Blinding Shot, Root, Thorn Wall (All at 6). Combo: Cruel Blast Combo, which consist of Shattering Scream & Blast Shot (Both at 6). [You can throw repulse in there first, or last. Whichever favors your play-style.]

Mage:
For a Mage, if they mana shield up, you want to break the shield first. So, cruel first, but sometimes that may be to hard, like for me. So, I'd blast shot, first, then debuff. He should be dead by then.

Bear:
For a Bear, if they beckon first. You want to repulse them a way, so they won't stomp and combo you. Then, debuff, Cruel Blast Combo.

I'm not a big PvP fan, but I posted this in another thread and decided to just paste it here as well.

Skills:
Max all except (1)Avian Scream, (0)Meditation, (0)Restore

Combo:
Focus->Evasion->Thorn Root->Break Armor->Shattering Scream->Blast Shot->Blinding Shot->Repulse Shot

1. Focus and Evasion are obvious first.
2. Thorn Root to reduce the probability that opponent will DODGE Break Armor, Shattering Scream, Blast Shot, Blinding Shot, Repulse Shot, and Avian Scream.
3. Break Armor sets up -26 armor points on your opponent. Causes Shattering Scream, Blast Shot, Blinding Shot, Repulse Shot, and Avian Scream to be stronger.
4. Shattering Scream to further reduce opponent's armor -16 points. Break Armor debuff should still be active, so -42 armor points total to make Blast Shot, Blinding Shot, and Repulse Shot stronger.
5. Blast Shot to cause Cruel Blast combo (which is technically an extra normal attack combined with your Blast Shot).
6. Blinding Shot to add extra damage while -42 armor point debuff is active.
7. Repulse Shot to add extra damage while -42 armor point debuff is active.

I'm not really a warr bird, but I'd figure mix and match FF & Fortified, for a nicer balance (All I can tell you about this spec, is that it increases survivability, but decreases skill damage and overall damage). It won't really matter in pvp, because you have to be quick, and only thing really saving you from insta death is that nice, little buff evade. So, that being said. I'd go, pure dex. As a pure dex, though, I'd opt to buying a recurve for that RR (since you say you can afford good gear) or use that autobow, for more range, but be extremely quick. Or, an ever cheaper alternative: Bagman. Very comparable to RR, not as high crit, but has very nice base damage, which ups skill damage, too. I use to pvp and that, and I was surprised at how much it killed.

Pvp is all about speed and luck. So, just go out... try your hardest. Win or lose, doesn't matter. As long as you had fun and enjoyed yourself. :D
